Science Experience Day - Astrodome

Our Science Experience Day this year focused on topics of Planet Earth and Space. These are topics for this term and are often hard to bring to life in school.

The Astrodome provided the most amazing way to experience these. Inside was like a 3D cinema and pupils watched the Sun set and the night sky come to life. They travelled in a rocket as it launched and saw the International Space Station fly in from it’s orbit. They flew over the Moon’s surface and into outer Space to see planets in our Solar System.

Older Pupils were shown how Space had fascinated scientists through the ages and saw interviews with the first men on the Moon. They also travelled back through the history of Planet Earth and explored Prehistoric lands where dinosaurs lived and died.

The Astrodome provided the most amazing experience of light, sound and physical space and was accessible to every pupil.

These are the responses of some pupils on an amazing day.
